About Storm The Stage

Higher Level Step will be hosting our fourth competition in collaboration with our school's reigning NYC dance step team, Tech Unique. With this collaboration of dance and step, we hope to broaden the community through knowledge of the different performing arts.

The competition will be split into two categories: step and dance, hosted by their respective teams. Judging criteria, rules, requirements, applications, etc. are all based on the competition category that your team falls under. Storm The Stage will be held on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 at Brooklyn Technical High School.

We encourage all dance teams, both competitive and non-competitive, and all competitive Step teams to join us at Storm The Stage!

Information

The competition will consist of a Middle School division and a High School division.

There is a $80 non-refundable registration fee for each step team.

We accept money orders, school checks or cash.

Make payable to Brooklyn Tech Finance Dept Step Teams.

If you are mailing your payment please send to Ramona Richardson c/o Brooklyn Technical HS 29 Ft Greene Place, Bklyn, NY 11217.

Cash

We will accept cash at the door. You can also Cashapp us at $stormthestage with your team name and Higher Level in the subject matter.

Even if you plan on paying at the door please register your team by May 1st. To register online, click the link on the next slide.

We are offering a monetary prize for this competition which will go to the Team with the highest overall score, as well as plaques for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Teams must arrive by 12:00 PM.

Doors open to the public at 2:00 PM.

Competition starts at 3:00 PM.

Tickets are available at the door for $10 for spectators.

Please feel free to pass this on to any other High School and/or Middle School step teams you know.

All registration materials are due on Friday May 1st, 2026.
